“To be a good actor you need to be a good human being”. And with these words started the process of my advanced workshop
To say that this course helped me would be an understatement. The advanced workshop for me was a beginning of the journey “within”.
It was my catharsis as I started the inward process of understanding first “who” I am and opening those dark doors which I refused to open all these years and Ratan was with us , understanding and guiding and just being there and thanks to him I have now a better understanding of who I am
How does this help? To be an actor you need to understand and empathize with the character you are playing and how can you understand someone else if you first do not have an understanding of yourself
The understanding of being “real” or “in the moment” was my biggest learning from the advanced workshop , when I play a character I have to become that person , I am a forty year old man who can’t see , who hates his father , who hates his mother and who will not give up what ever be the situation , I become that person, the advanced workshop helps us reach there. Even if I can’t for some reason atleast I will know that I am not real and that understanding would help me achieve realism.
Anyone who has done the advanced workshop till now must have definitely become real atleast once in that course , if you are going to do the advanced workshop be prepared because you need to work hard and you need to be brave (really brave) and the end result would be out of the world and don’t worry every step you fall , Ratan would be there to help you get up and resume your journey.
If not a better actor you would definitely come out a better human being.
Thanks Ratan.

From reel to real is the Keyword I was told DAY 1. What it means …easier said than going thro. Now, I know why is said, “Acting is believing”
Now too far ago was thinking, I am dine with the acting part when Level 2 was announced and to my surprise, “The learning got tougher and more technical” and as Ratan says… “who says life is easy”, made the learning even better
So there we were creating scripts, characters, sets (well as well holidaying which was not required)
The amazing about this workshop was to learn and introduction towards the technical aspect of acting like working with emotions or the costumes or the movement and technicalities of stage design.
Personally, I enjoyed using the Forth wall a lot (remember which level We learnt it?)
I think I know a bit of what is said “Acting is believing”
Thanks MISFIT and especially Ratan for All the good work that happened during the workshops and presentations
Love and Regards
