Evening of Music – Audience Testimonials

Chandrahasa Reddy

Misfit played host last evening to a wonderful “Evening of Music” that showcased some amazing musical talent.   The intimate space was decorated with the breathtaking music of the Tabla performed by none other than the multi talented Suresh Doraiswamy.  Accompanied by the beautiful renditions of the flute by Gayatri, and a lovely performance on the Guitar by Dr. Prakash Kota.

The evening began with the beautiful vocals of Mallika Krishnamurthy, whose voice soon drowned the evening into nostalgia.  The audience soon joined in and the impromptu performances of the audience members gave a special personal touch to the evening.

From classics from the yesteryears of Bollywood to the foottapping numbers in Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam, the evening was truly multilingual and multifaceted.  Aptly called the “Evening of Music”, the event gave the music lover a wonderful space to experience the beauty of music.  As the evening drew to a close, the audience interacted with the performers in true Misfit style, giving them an opportunity to understand the artists better.

With more similar events planned in the future, the Evening of Music seems like a perfect start to more wonderful events at the Misfit.

Mallika Krishnamurthy

An ‘Evening of Music’ at the Misfit was everything it should be. It was a gathering of different age-groups, their active participation and enthusiasm in the event. A collection of songs from classical, to yesteryears, to some of the latest numbers, people were belting them out and it all sounded great. Emotions swayed from one to another, music being the via medium.

There was also a mini exhibition of paintings by Apurv’s mother. It all seemed to fit in so well.

For me, personally, it felt good to prepare for a concert and perform before an audience. I enjoyed performing alongside Suresh, Gayathri, Prakash. I am glad that Misfit is proving to be a good platform for artists.

Art, be it of any form, takes your mind off the mundane chaos that seems to creep into one’s world quite often. It transports you into a world of beauty and calm. ‘An Evening of Music’ hopes to have done just that.
