Hello Ratan,
I first heard about misfit from Vineet. I was so amazed by the difference it had made to him. He was a shy timid person and he transformed over a period and it was a visible change.
I had decided then that i have to go try this for myself. If it can do that much for a him im sure it would add something to me as well.
The ice breaking exercises that you have employed worked wonders. I think that set the comfort level.
I was a little apprehensive about mingling with strangers and not too sure how they would react or/and accept me as i am.
As the weeks passed by i learnt a lot about observation and projecting yourself. It is this single aspect that has made a huge difference.
We might not be a particular person, but if we project ourselves in a particular manner for a prolonged period i believe we come closer to the projection. I’v met various kinds of people. Some of them extremely funny. I still remember the Shashi Daran of the first day. He was very quiet and din’t want to look like a clown. My first encounter with Vijayanti was awkward. First time i spoke to Nandh i could think of my manager from the place where i used to work.
As weeks passed by i realized that a mom of a 10 yr old can be as chilled out as your college friends. In fact, I was amazed how she gelled into the group with so much ease and grace.
The exercise where we had to go out and find a character was tricky. It helped me break out of the interacting with strangers shell. I guess i can say i am less uncomfortable now
One of the other things that i think is useful is the use of personal props. It adds an extra dimension to you. Its something that people use all the time and i never knew how to categorize it.
I personally think that the “no shuffle” part projects me as a more confident person.
Im glad that i joined misfit.
