This feedback is not because you have asked; it’s because I wanted to give one.
Everyone is saying Level 2 is Torment; Ratan also asked us so many times “Are you sure you all want to join L2?” and even told us that it’s not about fun. Yes, torment is there, I had a little fun also as we learnt Comedy versus Drama. As Ratan always says Life is not a bed of roses and an Actor’s Life is full of Pain and fun. An Actor struggles through whole Life and faces Success and Failure every day. So as an Actor I’m always ready to be tormented to learn something.
I learnt a lot from Level 1 and Level 2, so torment doesn’t mean anything to me. I remember as a child I was very emotional; then I started to build my defense mechanism and after that nothing could harm me, think of any bad situation, it won’t harm me. During Level 2 Ratan took a special class for finding the triggers; I couldn’t find any trigger and I asked him and told him about my defense mechanism, Ratan said as an Actor you have to reserve all emotions and triggers for all emotions. Let things affect you at that moment and channelize it for something good; but don’t let it affect you always, keep it in your mind and use it as a trigger. Thanks Ratan I’m following you and I guess I’m getting it.
Movement of body, Physicality of Character, Character build up, Acting in the moment, Voice Exercise, Getting into Character and a lot of things I learnt in Level2.
Mr. Venkatesan Vaidhyanathan also took a special class which will always be memorable.
Just before Level 2 classes we did “CONNECTOLOGUES” V1.O and after Level 2 classes we did “TORMENTED AT ONE BY EIGHT OF INFINITY” for our Level2 Grading presentation .All these wouldn’t have been Possible without Krishnan Suresh, Venkatesan Vaidhyanathan, Vishal Nair, Amit Ranjan Sahu, Balaji Shanmuganath, Namrta Dhar, Belliraj Hb and of course last but not the least Ratan Thakore Grant.
It was a beautiful Journey from Level 1 to Level 2; But the Journey is not finished yet for me.
An Actor loves Praises and at the same time confronts Critics; and learns how to use both praises and criticisms to grow as an actor. As Ratan says listen to constructive criticism only. I can’t thank you enough Ratan. You may be a Devil in your Devil’s Courtyard but I’m sure you have a Heart of God. And apologies for the torment you went through because of us. Love you Ratan.
