News: The registration date for the new L1 workshop, starting on Oct 2nd 2010, has been fixed to 25th September 2010, between 12:30pm-4:30pm and 5:30pm-7:30pm. The L1 Acting course will be starting on 2nd Oct 2010.Level 1 is the foundation course which aims to bring out the fun of acting, make participants lose inhibitions, teach them stagecraft, pantomime, and character building. It is also for people without any background in acting. The objective is to make them as natural as possible.The course is unique because it focuses on bringing out the originality, the creativity, and the attention to detail in the actor, by letting the actor create their concepts, and execute them in the form of a play which is their final performance.The course includes:
- Breaking inhibitions: getting people comfortable to act, in front of an audience.
- Characterization.
- Voice: Understanding the components, and projection of voice.
- Observation.
- Listening skills.
- Pantomime.
- Improvisation.
- Scene creation and Character creation.
- Script creation.
- Fine tuning of theatre craft.
Duration of the course: First five weeks: Training (48 hours) Frequency – Every Tuesday and Thursday between 7:00pm-9/9:30pm, and every Saturday between 11:00am to 6:00pm with an hour’s lunch break. After the first 5 weeks, the next two weeks: Intensive training – fine tuning of all the aspects of the course, while preparing for the final grading. (Around 25 hours) This course is also designed in such a way, that it will help the participant, if he or she decides to, take acting as a profession. Depending on the outcome of the grading, there might be a play (ticketed), which is a public performance, showcasing what the students have learnt during the course. This course includes sessions on lights, and stage setup. Please note punctuality and attendance are very essential.Registration:The first round of registrations will happen on 25th September between 12:30pm-4:30pm and 5:30pm-7:30pm. Knowledge of theater is not necessary for the interview. It is purely for us, to get an understanding of your potentials.
Venue: It is one of the most central areas, situated near M.G. Road. Golden Beads Montessori school, Rathna Avenue, Richmond Road, Bangalore, India, 560052. (Note: It’s the road behind Kids Kemp (on MG road). Once on the road, it’s the second right, when coming from Trinity Circle.)
