MISF!T must have received complements like – amazing, marvelous, fantastic, brilliant, awesome workshop. Well, I am not going to write anything different, but with a blend of my experience.

MISF!T has helped me to rediscover myself. When I say rediscover I mean I have again fallen head over heels in love with Theatre, which was lost since most of my time was occupied being a part of this rat’s race.

This workshop of 6 weekends (precisely 42 hours) gives you an in depth knowledge on acting, theatre and its technicalities. Again brilliantly covers the stage presence, voice modulation, eye & body movements, facial expressions etc. Eradicates all your inhibitions-not being scared to make a fool of oneself. 

Many people have this misconception that acting is a cake walk. If you think so you are definitely in a fool’s paradise. MISF!T has put in a lot of hard hard work and has brain stormed to come up with this exciting workshop.  It definitely does not make acting easy but guides you throughout with easier techniques to learn it.

A very interesting part is you will have to take down notes and learn some theories. For people who are working it is like going back to the college days, which is actually fun.

Also, you have a grading on the sixth week.

Ratan Thakore Grant who is the Guru off this Gurukul and the soul of this MISF!T foundation. He is the epitome of knowledge when it comes to acting and theatre. The download you get from him is unbeatable. You will get addicted to his high energy level, enthusiasm, and way of teaching. He has an eye for detail and equally pays attention to his each and every student. He pushes you to the limit where nothing but the best would come out from you. 

Also, a special mention to Venky Sir, Linoj, Vishal, Ankit, Mithi, Sneha, Arvind (active members of MISF!T group) whose constant presence during the classes helped us understand the exercises. Sometimes with the brilliant performances and sometime mentoring us using their experiences. Additionally you get to meet some amazing talented people from your batch form whom also you can

learn a lot of things.

As Shakespeare said “All the world is a stage and; all we are merely players. They have their exits and entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts.” 

So, we all are playing our parts even in our real life. I strongly connect to this saying like I now do with MISF!T. Would like to conclude by saying – My Interest Stays Firmly In Theatre.

To kill all your inhibitions…….

You need to have dedication

Sometimes we play the exercise of concentration…….

& sometimes the exercise of relaxation

Fourth wall, actor’s magic everything goes for a waste…….

If you do not give your best

Stage movements should not have shuffling, upstaging & blocking…….

Wherein stage business requires too much of detailing

Character+Action+Purpose+xxx+xxx=xxx=Emotion…….

Now this is the mind boggling Ratan’s equation

Not to forget the eye, character and the voice projection…….

Afterall these are the main ingredients of improvisation

You need to use your imagination to create a back story………

This is the actor’s one of the biggest worry

To develop meaningful movements we will have to do a ‘Pantomime’…….

And to present an abstract idea we will have to perform mime

Everything needs to have a purpose……..

With all the focus

Finally when the script and the actor is ready……….

Ratan will smile and say ‘way to go baby’
