As destiny would have it, I had seen a final day presentation by misfit students, and was totally sold on it. I was initially apprehensive, thinking, I would be a MisFit, considering my young age( pun intended). When I expressed this to baba (Ratan) he reassured me that it would not matter and now I realise, how right he was. I really experienced inclusivity in its true sense at Misfit. We had a diverse group of students from all age groups, professional backgrounds, etc etc. However, this course was a leveller.
I wish the big corporates doing lip service to inclusivity, could learn this aspect from Misfit. Hats off to Ratan.
Watching Ratan and Vishal playing out characters and situations, how to and how not to, was just magical experience.
A course at Misfit, is more than just acting, it is discipline, team work, dedication, creativity, FUN and a means of getting over your inhibitions. The energy levels were maintained throughout the class with carefully interleaved theory and practical sessions. I also got to work with very interesting and talented folks. I have new friends for life now. My Misfit family.
I now wait eagerly, for the time I can be back in India, to take L2 and envy my classmates who signed up for it.
I have added to my vocabulary new four letter words and ” katharnak” sentences and I can use them with a lot of ease, to the utter disbelief of my family, since baba has taught us, the way to detach the words, from their intent, a la ” na na ni no”.
