Hi All ,

The MAC (Misfit Actors Code) clearly states that everything should have a beginning middle and an end.
Beginning: A 33 year old confused soul enters the Misfit studio to break his inhibitions and enrolls for L1.
Middle: He fights his inhibitions (fighting … fighting … fighting as in conflict building) for 6 weeks and is finally ready for his L1 grading.
End: He finishes his L1 grading and believes all his Inhibitions are gone and on top of that he is an amazing actor.

But the story does not end here because Baba always likes a twist in the end. So this make belief amazing actor now enrolls for L2 …

This is the story of this Twist of Fate as it happened…

I received warnings (from seniors as well as from the man himself) both verbal as well as written

“These stunts are performed by professionals. Please do not try this at home”. These were couple of realizations and experiences after completing the course
1. To start with it was pretty ok. There was couple of questions which needed systematic answering. This is what is called Character Study .But this needs to be done for every character that you play from now on Life Long.Slowly I realized chuck Marlon Brando even playing the elephant in “Haathi mera Saathi” needs so much preparation. Who said acting is easy??
2. The next exercise was all about cruelty against animals( Puppy exercise) and after repeating it for several weeks you will think at least 10 times before killing a mosquito.
3. If you have the habit of turning left and right in your sleep please never ever join L2. Because by the end of 4th week all the introspection and internalization will turn various parts of your body into distinct Kaveri Water Taps(triggers). You press those points even accidentally and water starts trickling out.
4. I grew up assuming that some days are just BAD DAYS and you don’t need to do anything in a Bad day. But Misfit philosophy was so different you have to do swimming, dancing , martial arts, comedy , drama and even your GRADING on a Bad day. That was pretty scary.
5. But the best thing about this course was Memory management (if you are a Computer addict you will appreciate it even more). Level 2 will make you travel across all those memory lanes and categorize them (Recall, substitute).
6. To every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. We all know it. But Baba took it even one level up. Use every action of your past to get reactions from audience. FATAFATI.
But on a serious note if you want to understand the craft in a better and more meaningful way L2 is what you need to go for. If L1 was fun L2 was more serious and intense trying to give one a deep understanding of the craft and above all we have the magician to teach so what more can one ask for.

Thank you Baba once again.

Thanks
Abhisek
