Misfit, the course ended too soon, but has the journey come to it’s end? That I am unsure about. Everyone enters misfit for a reason, some to overcome their fear, some to learn more about acting, some to gain confidence, and some to get one more task off their bucket list. Everyone comes with a purpose, not knowing that they are going to gain so much more than just one of their problem being resolved.
People enter the misfit studio as a bunch of strangers and come out of it as really good friends, some may be just for the time being and some might even last for a life time. The funny part is this happens without any proper introduction session ever happening.. It’s the best place to be yourself in, you’re not scared of being judged, you’re not afraid of not being accepted, basically you’re not afraid of being yourself.. There are amazing human beings that you meet in the process, the most amazing and extra ordinary person being Baba (Mr. Ratan Thakore Grant),he makes you feel so at home and comfortable. To me today, he has become a father figure and misfit a home far away from home.. He’s a teacher (that too a brilliant one), a mentor, a father, a friend and a guardian angel and the list could go on.. In the past 3 years that I’ve been in Bangalore, I can honestly say that Baba and Misfit is the best thing that has happened to me.. Now coming to my purpose of being here– Stage fear, was my utmost important issue when I joined Misfit… I had, had experiences where even after preparing for months, I would step on the stage and just go blank..Joining misfit, I learnt that overcoming that fear doesn’t happen in a day or two, it’s a continuous process, but you gain confidence when you start believing in yourself and loving and accepting yourself. I wouldn’t say I have completely overcome that fear even today but yeah, Baba, Vishal Sir, Venky Sir, Adi and the entire batch has helped me escalate the process..You learn to laugh on yourself instead of always taking yourself so damn seriously.. And the best part is, everyone in Misfit is always ready to help, in one way or the other, they are always there.
So by the end of the 6 week course, you don’t even realise that you came to may be get over one of your inhibitions but you’ve ended up gaining so much more from it, i.e, may be technicalities, maybe life long friends, may be life lessons, may be a whole new family.. Hence, Misfit isn’t just a course, it’s a journey that does go on. So to conclude, Thank you so much Baba for this wonderful and eventful experience and and and I love you.. 🙂
