How did the workshop help me.

personally it helped me open up,just do what you think is right.you can call this workshop a very good personality development programme as well. am more patient, more in control of myself. basically i feel good bout myself.

proffesionally a lot of fine points bout acting which i never thought existed came into focus. starting with the very first class bout the actors magic. the voice excercises are a great help( i do them everyday). the graph was a new concept and that `s when i realized what makes any performance special is when it has a graph. some misconceptions bout acting eg living the character were enlightened. as a director how to use a bad actor.. that was a new idea as well. the concedpt of the fourth wall was a defining point for me( and we did have a clear cut fourth wall for our play… the don play). improvisation is a very imp factor in doing any role. and the do s an donts of improvisation.the beginning middle an end concept was very helpful in writing the script for me(helped me get a direction while scriptin).ratan`s technique of always encouragin any performance gave me a lot of confidence to open up…  what happens is people generally tend to find faults in any performance but here the case was opposite… so we had guys freakin out and givin good an sometimes grt performance..    previously i used to be rather critical bout anything i saw.. now i see the good points in any performance and try to encourage people myself… am more appreciative now… generally speaking. the acting eqn by stainslavsky was very imp as well…. also insights into the advanced workshop was very helpful.. i unknowingly learnt a lot out there. how to get the body language  of a person was another key factor while researching a character. the levels of acting (now that s somethin i din use in the presentation) veru essential point  and of course the mime and phantomime classes were somethin that helped in giving a shape to the character as well( i actually tried using phantomime to give movements to characters in  my play).. the who what when where why was very very very  imp a concept for me.. and in the end it helped me realizin my true  potential( realizing not reaching….. am yet to reach there)to project my style in my acting.

thanks ratan….
it aint over yet………………
I ll BE    BACK
