To say that the L1 course was unnerving for me would be a colossal understatement.

Completely and utterly unsure of myself and having absolutely no idea what I was getting myself into, I joined Misfit nervous and jittery, words I would frequently use to express my state of mind to my friends for the next 5 weeks. Little did I know that it would be a journey that would change me.

From the first day we set foot on the acting studio to the last day which culminated with the grading, the emotions we went thru were extreme. From skepticism to clarity, from happiness to sadness, from anger to calmness, from triumph to despair, we had it all. And only someone brilliant can make an entire batch swing with this kind of intensity. As dazzling an actor he is, Ratan is an amazing teacher. The kind of teacher you wish you were exposed to in your school days because the prospects if that would have happened would be limitless. He wants to be questioned and challenged because that’s what drives him, his breathtaking energy is contagious, and his passion for the art form is truly humbling. I am honored to have been his student. So what have I learnt? Well, of course I learnt about acting and its techniques, I understood that it was way harder than I thought it was, and I appreciate it even more. But what really moved me is the profound truth that the stage is a sacred and secure place, it is an arena where you can completely immerse yourself to being someone else entirely, and as long as you show the courage to be truthful and you employ the right techniques to project it, the audience will applaud. This, for me, is a fascinating lesson to learn.

Thank you Ratan.
