I joined Misf!t (My Interest Stays Firmly In Theatre) classes for sheer fun. Trust me, I’ve not been disappointed, not even a bit! Six weeks flew by and most of us were transformed. Transformed either into good actors, better humans, effective team mates or more empathetic souls.

My batch of thirty five (35) was truly versatile. We had model, dancer, PR representative, ERP consultant, architect, software engineers, business managers, hotel management grad, and many other professionals. And, each of us joined with a different purpose. Whatever the purpose be, I assure Misf!t offers good and practical understanding of acting/ theatre, trust, confidence, team bonding, last but not the least – fun.

This was a six weeks Level 1 course in acting. Ratan (Dear Baba J), the instructor has devised the course aptly, such that the pressure does not build up and we learn and apply acting techniques with ease. Misf!t uses ‘Method acting’ for teaching the techniques. Method acting simplifies the process of learning by breaking it into steps. This immensely helps in building self-belief and taking forward steps towards acting.

The course is quite comprehensive; it covers Breaking inhibitions, Characterization, Voice and listening skills, Observation, Improvisation, Pantomime, etc. All this through light, jovial and entertaining exercises!

Towards the end of the course we realize, we all can act! Yes, we are graded too J. The fun does not end here. Misfit is a family where we continue to learn, grow and stay cheerful.

I joined misfit never to leave.
